Warnings and Advice
Glycolic acid is an AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid). AHAs can increase sun sensitivity due to their exfoliating properties. We recommend covering areas where the product has been applied with sunscreen prior to sun exposure and for seven days after use. Do not use if you have rosacea. Avoid direct contact with eyes and lips. You may feel a slight tingling or hot sensation on the skin when applying. However, If there is any itching or a prolonged burning sensation discontinue use and consult a doctor.

THE INKEY LIST Tips
AHAs are a gentle and effective way to exfoliate the skin, provided you choose the one that is appropriate for your needs and do not overuse it. In case you have never used AHA-based products, we recommend that you start using it by applying it on alternate evenings. Glycolic acid penetrates deeper than other AHAs and is ideal to tackle visible skin problems such as enlarged pores or congested skin. If you wish to use something more gentle or if you have very sensitive skin, opt for lactic acid or alpha-hydroxy acid.

How to combine with other products
-With Vitamin C - Combining such powerful ingredients helps maintain healthy skin; however, it is best to use Vitamin C in the morning and alpha-hydroxy acid in the evening. The acid pH of these two ingredients may increase skin sensitivity and cause irritations if used combined. Vitamin C works best in the morning because of its antioxidant properties.
-With Retinol - If you are also using a Retinol product in your evening routine and wish to introduce an acid, we suggest you use the acid only once a week or on alternate nights with Retinol. If you with to use them both on the same day, due to pH levels, we recommend that you wait approximately 20 minutes before applying Retinol and be careful not to overuse these products as both stimulate skin renewal and may increase skin sensitivity.
-With other AHAs - We recommend that you use only one AHA at a time (glycolic, alpha-hydroxy or lactic acid). Although they offer slightly different benefits, excessive exfoliation can lead to increased skin sensitivity.
