Surf Infusion

A must have for me

I've got a ton of fine wavy hair, and naturally rely on surf sprays for easy styling. You can't treat this spray like you do other sprays. Most others you'd want to put a small amount of leave in, or hair oil on before using because they can be drying. With this, you don't need to, and run the risk of oily hair if you do. A little goes a long way. I alternate this and BBs other surf spray depending on what my hair is doing that day. Definitely love.

Great for texture

I liked this more than the Surf spray, even for my fine hair. Can make hair greasy if you spray too much, but duh – it is oil based. When use sparingly, creates nice texture and definition.

Small package, lose curls

I usually love all things Bumble and Bumble, but this product took some time before I got to love it. It’s full the same great hair care quality that all bumble and bumble products do. But I really like using this as a detangler for my wet hair. It also has an amazing smell. Don’t let the size fool you, it’s sort of a dry weather hair style option.

Not enough texture! maybe it was the addition of the oil, but I've been using for a month and find that it doesn't give any beachy vibes on my medium-thick, slightly wavy hair. Not worth the price tag.

NOT FOR ME

This was recommended by Sephora employee in my local store after they stopped carrying the Ouai Dry Texture Foam. I asked for a similar product and this spray was recommended. This did not create the same texturized look and the oil in the spray weighed my hair down, creating a flat look. This did make my hair look shiny but it kept no shape. I feel that a salt spray without the added oil would have worked with my hair better. This product did smell really nice though. I ended up exchanging it (something I wouldn’t normally do) for the Living Proof Dry Volume spray and definitely prefer the scent of this instead. This spray may work well for people with dry hair as it made my hair super soft but unfortunately it just didn’t work for me.

Works Well Once You Learn How To Use It

The biggest complaint in reviews of this product are that it makes your hair greasy. If you use the product in the right way, that doesn't happen, and it takes a little trial and error to figure out the best way to use this spray. There is a reason why the full size bottle of Surf Infusion is much smaller than Bumble and Bumbles other spray products, and that's because you're supposed to use it far more sparingly. I initially purchased this as a way to tame my air dried hair on a trip to the Bahamas. It worked alright on its own, but yes, it tended towards greasiness. HOWEVER, when used as a complement to an air dry cream, that is where this product shines. I usually use a styling cream (I have the Surf cream but also like IGK's products) all over my hair and follow with a few spritzes of Surf Infusion. Once my hair is dry and I tousle it a little, I finish with this spray again. It tames frizz and adds shine, but not grease because I'm using just a small amount. I really love using this as a finishing product- and it smells amazing, too!

This is the first surf/beach spray I've used that didn't make my hair frizzy or look stringy. For context my hair is 2c/3a curl type, course and dry. I use this on my hair when its damp and let it continue to air dry, it definitely keeps the frizz at bay, adds moisture, and helps to define my waves and curls. I don't think this would make your hair curly if its naturally straight, but if you already have waves and curls and you want something to give you messy, carefree beachy hair that isn't drying, I'd recommend trying this product. My only complaint is that even the full size bottle is quite small for the price and I feel like I go through the bottle quickly, so its rather expensive.

My go to

Thought I would finally write a review since I have been using this for at least a couple years now. I have long naturally wavy hair and I use this when I curl it or air dry ( which during quarantine is often). A few spritzes on the frizzy looking areas adds just the right texture and shine to finish the look. No other salt sprays do it as well as this one.

Makes your hair greasy

Im sure this is good if you have incredibly dry hair but I have normal to dry hair and it made my hair super greasy and horrible.

Great for day 2 hair

I have 2c/3b porous curls. This doesn't work on my hair when it is freshly washed but it is THE BEST thing I have found (and I have tried A LOT) to refresh my day 2 or day 3 curls when they have pulled apart and are frizzed out.

Light weight and smell great

Love this! I use this after curling my hair and it has a light weight hold, give enough texture to give my hair dimension and leaves my hair very shiny! I get compliments EVERYTIME I use this product! It doesn’t create waves for me but it holds the texture of my waves to give a more effortless look. On my second bottle now. I took off 1 star only bc it doesn’t create waves when I spray it on my damp hair and air dry
