Good Primer for a Tight Budget

I tried the Sephora Boost + Lock 12HR Eyeshadow Primer and found it to be a decent, budget-friendly option. It goes on smoothly and helps create a nice base for eyeshadow, making colors appear more vibrant. On my normal-to-dry lids, it held up pretty well for around 10 hours with minimal creasing. However, I noticed it can dry out quickly in the tube, and application becomes a bit clumpy over time. I’ve also seen others say it doesn’t perform as well on oily lids. It’s not a holy grail product, but for the price, it’s worth trying if you’re looking for a simple everyday primer. Just be aware that results may vary depending on your skin type. Needs Improvement but held up against allergies

I had some issues with this particular eye primer. First, I think the packaging could use some serious tweaking. It took forever to get to the container. On the first use, the applicator is hard to get out of the bottle. It also felt gritty like liquid sand. I did find the applicator was easier to get out of the tube the more you used the primer. Also, the formula felt less gritty & went on more smoothly. It did the trick with my eyeshadow tho. It was definitely more vibrant & it actually lasted 12 hours. That is why I gave it 4 stars versus 3. I suffer from allergies all year. They make my eyes water & itch constantly when they flair. However, the primer held my eyeshadow in place despite rubbing them all day. I received this product as part of a promotion in exchange for my honest review.

Good for powders, but needs improvements for liqui

As a professional makeup artist, I had the chance to test this eye primer on different skin types. It performs very well with powder eyeshadows — intensifying the color and helping it last throughout the day. The texture is smooth and easy to work with. However, I found that it doesn’t interact well with liquid eyeshadows — it tends to crease and doesn’t hold them in place. I also wish the primer had more pigment to help neutralize discoloration or visible veins on the eyelids. A slightly more tinted formula would make it much more versatile. Good product

This is a very good product! It has its learning curve and when I first saw the color that it had it scared me, but It's suitable for every skin color. I apply a little on my eyelids, then, I blend it with a brush, wait for it to dry a little bit and then apply the eyeshadows. They do last longer but I do not see that much difference in mattes compared to shimmer.

Helped with my worst palette!

This product was provided for promotional purposes in exchange for my honest review So I had this eyeshadow palette that shoes no color what so ever no matter how much I added so it was the best thing to try with this product. Product is very easy to apply and I loved the applicator It has a nice smell and the texture is like a cream I applied it on my eyelids gave it a second to set and then applied the eyeshadow and it perfectly helped with showing the colors!! It made the colors apply on top of it easily and the colors popped. I loved this product so much and it will last me a very long time but I would definitely repurchase that It also was very easily removed with my makeup remover. I would use that with mainly bad palettes as this would give them a chance

Wow! I feel like the Sephora Collection makeup products are so slept on! This eyeshadow primer is comparable to pricier ones I have tried from more expensive brands on the market. As a girl who likes to play with eyeshadow, especially a glitter eyeshadow, this eyeshadow primer really holds up all day long! I was definitely surprised by how long my eyeshadow held up after 8 hours during one of the hottest and most humid days I had experienced while wearing this product on my eyelids. The primer is a nude color, so it doesn't clash if you're wearing a bright eyeshadow color, in fact, I think it definitely enhances the color payoff of the eyeshadow. Honestly, this is a great product for the price point. Highly recommend. This review was part of a promotion.

Amazing product

I am absolutely satisfied with the results of this eyes primer, I needed it very much to complete my full makeup. Now I can keep my eye makeup intact for a whole day. Definitely a must have!!

I thought this was a decent eye shadow primer. To be honest I don't normally use primer on my eyelids or even a specific eye shadow primer so this is already a step up for me. I found it had a very strong smell. That was a negative for me. I was not a fan of the smell, it was very chemical scented. I did think it blended very well and did a decent job of helping to help my eye shadow "hold" better. I even tried this with a highlighter as my eyeshadow and that seemed to work well too with the primer as the base. So overall, not the best because I still noticed some creasing in the product as the day went on. But for the price point, it's decent. Just wish the smell was not as strong as it is. Like it!

After testing out this product a few times, I think it’s effective and easy to use. You just swipe some on your eye and pat it in. Then put your eyeshadow on on top. My eyeshadow lasted well through out the day and looked about the same at the end of the day as when I put it on. I did think that this product made my eyes slightly itchy so if you’re someone who is sensitive then I would use this with caution. It wasn’t itchy enough for me to have to stop use but it was noticeable in comparison to my usual eye products that never make my eyes itch.

Good product, but not for me

I wasn't crazy about The Boost + Lock Eyeshadow Primer, but it's only because my needs are different. Here are the cons, then the pros. CONS For me, I enjoy using a concealer all over my lids because it neutralizes the canvas, i.e. my eyelids. I want dense and opaque, because once the shadow is on, you're not going to know there was a thin wall of concealer under it. And the MAIN reason is because at 48, I want any shadows and hollows in my eyes neutralized, and with this product being sheer, it just doesn't do that. This would be the tinted sunscreen version of an eyeshadow primer - sheer, invisible, natural. I want the full coverage version of a shadow primer. Make it opaque and give me coverage. PROS If you want something natural, this is for you. If you have young lids and don't want the naturally occuring shadows and contours of your eye minimized or erased, this is for you. If you don't need a ton of vibrancy from your shadows, this is for you. It blends in sheer and might be helpful to use over brows to help brow pencils or pomades stay on. In fact, I'll probably start using it for that. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest feedback.
