Long-lasting but too strong and overpowering for m

I had high expectations for this fragrance, but it didn’t quite work for me. The scent is very strong and sweet, almost overpowering, and it felt too heavy for my personal taste. While it does last a long time, the intensity didn’t soften enough as it wore on. It might appeal to some, but it wasn’t a scent I enjoyed wearing regularly.

Very nice

I love scents, it puts me in a good mood, so when I was selected to try the new Jean Paul Gaultier “La Male” I was super excited. I got a small sample from influenster to try for my honest review and I’m really glad I did! I’ve always held Jean Paul Gaultier in a high tier and this did not disappoint. The sweetness of the tonka bean comes on strongly with vanilla notes and the subtle hints of lavender even out the profile. It smells strongly and lasted all night so I find it good for a night out over daily use! It certainly fills a room when you walk in so also good for weddings or balls!

Top notes are Lavender and Mint; middle notes are Vanilla and Benzoin; base notes are Honey, Tonka Bean and Tobacco. Le Male Elixir will induce burning cravings and drive your senses crazy. I received this promotional sample from Jean Paul Gaultier in exchange for my incentivized opinion. JPG Le Male Elixir is a strong sweet and smokey fragrance, it has the power of most of the fragrances of this house and more, it last forever on your skin and clothes (I would say like 3 days) or can still notice it after showering the next day you sprayed it on your skin. The opening has a prominent sweet honey note that dissipates to bring the benzoine and lavender and ends in a dry down of smokiness with tobacco and the vanilla. I personally loved/hated this fragrance, I normally don't like benzoine in fragrances and in this one it makes it smell like a toilet cleaner, not bad but I don't feel it pleasant. I did not know what to think about it, if it was just too sweet or not, for the mature or much more for the young crowd (leaning towards the young ones) and I got less compliments than complaints of it being a stinkbomb. It is a fragrance for fall/winter.

Too sweet for my preference

I enjoyed receiving this as a sample. Personally for me I don’t think I would buy the full size bottle as it came off a little too sweet for me. You can definitely get the hints of vanilla. I didn’t get much lavender which was a plus for me but may not be of others likings. I enjoyed sampling this but I tend to stay away from sweeter scents.

Not worth it…

This elixir smells just like jpg edp. However, my biggest gripe is that this scent seems very weak in projection for an elixir. Don’t get me wrong it has great durability and longevity but not much power, in terms of projection. I think this elixir would make a great date night fragrance for the fall months but not potent enough for winter months, making it rather redundant. Not really versatile, making it a tacky fragrance release.

Perfect winter scent

Such a warm and amazing scent. I feel like it’s warm, a bit vanilla and can be unisex. It’s a great scent for winter. I also looked up the full size bottle, it’s very sleek and cool looking. I’ve been able to smell myself all through the house though I used the cologne yesterday.

The Le male scent reimagined for the evening

Wow, the honey and tobacco combination is amazing. The sweetness of the fragrance is intoxicating. This is more of an evening scent and the projection is immense and it leaves a pleasant scent cloud as you walk. I get longevity of about 7 hours on my skin

The design on the poster looks good. The scent is strong and last pretty long. I’ve never used this brand before but it’s definitely worth it. My wife loves it
