I purchased with my scent certificate, but ended up giving it away. It doesn't smell as good with my chemistry as I would hope. Old fragrance vibes.

Omg this smells so good I’m going to go back for a second bottle just to have . It’s so earthy and just smells rich I absolutely love it .

Somebody lied to me.

I saw someone say that this perfume smells like cigarettes. Unless my nose is deceiving me, black orchid does not infact smell like cigarettes. It kind of smells like an old lady, or a hippie. It's not bad, just not what I was expecting. It is very strong though. I sprayed it onto a cotton pad, and now it's all I can smell. It's giving me a slight headache but that's because I'm very sensitive to things.

Spray into air first to get full spread of perfume

This is yum for me... if applied correctly, for those who can't handle that bitter manly smell it has (on me anyway) . I find if I spray directly on skin, I don't receive the full bouquet/body of the perfume and then it smells like mens cologne. It almost stops it from fully blossoming all the warm & subtle sweet scents from it. I spray it in the air in front of me and wait a half sec for it to unload and walk into it. I do that with wrists and hair etc., and it lasts all day. It's my new favorite!

As someone who is quiet and shy, I've always gone with lighter scents. I didn't want anything bold. As other reviewers have said this perfume requires confidence to wear. Black Orchid haunted me for weeks before I caved & told myself that I'd FIND the confidence to wear it. But the thing is, wearing it is what gave me the confidence! The scent is rich & deep, calming yet exciting. I bought my bottle 2 yrs ago? I'm still obsessed. I hope this scent stays forever because I will be lost without it.

Alluring sex appeal

Absolutely alluring, sexy, mysterious, has depth, not for the faint of heart. My everyday go to, you gotta have attitude to wear this gem, packs a punch, only few can carry.

Best perfume ever

This is the best smelling perfume. I get so many compliments from men and women. I would but it 100 times again.

Subtle like a brick to the face.

This is the only perfume I’ve ever worn that has garnered complaints from a friend. I tried. I tried to like it. I went so easy with it and it was still overwhelming. I had to go to the restroom and try to wash it off halfway through brunch. Just foul. Like you’ve bathed in strong men’s cologne. I gave it to my son, who gave it to someone at college. It’s probably still dorm surfing around Ohio.

Confidence is a must!

This has been my signature scent for years in the fall and winter months. It’s strong, but lasts all day and into the night. You really need to have the confidence to pull this off because it WILL get noticed. Think of a woman dressed in a tailored suit and fine heels walking into a boardroom to tell a group of men how to do their jobs. Or perhaps a stunningly beautiful woman that is at a glamourous party as she effortlessly draws the attention of all eyes on her. It’s that type of powerful scent. Definitely not every personality can pull it off, but if it’s what you’re looking for definitely give it a try.
