FAB Skin Lab Retinol Serum 0.25% pure concentrate

So far, so good for this first time retinol user!

So far, so good. I have been using this for one month now on my neck and chest. I have extremely sensitive skin and have some apparently undiagnosable skin texture changes that randomly showed up, along with a rash. I have been to 3 dermatologist. They don't know what it is. One did a skin biopsy but he told me it was inconclusive. The last one sent me home with a bottle of 1% retinol. I knew this would be far too harsh for my sensitive skin (especially on neck and chest!) but heaven forbid we question a doctor! He initially said I should start with .5% but they ran out of stock and told me the 1% would be the same. No buddy, it won't. I went home and searched for lower retinol concentrations and decided on this as I have never used a true retinol before. I followed the directions carefully-gradually increasing to every other day. I have tolerated it well. Little to no irritation. I use a thick moisturizer on top of it. I have noticed some improvement in the texture of my neck but not much on my chest yet. I am going to start using every night in the next little while. I really like the product. I am not finding any issue with the pump-as many others have mentioned. As long as you twist the cap firmly, it locks into place and you can pump it out easily. You only use a small amount. I wish FAB made a .5% one so I could gradually increase. Instead, I will have to try another brand when I want to increase the retinol dosage and that is problematic as the other, inactive ingredients may not suit my skin as well. FAB, please make a graduated line of retinols!

Excellent product!

The reason this is such a good choice of retinol is mainly because of the perfect packaging. Retinol will deteriorate if it's not in an airless pump, so this cream is going to last to the very end of the pot. It has a great texture and doesn't sting even slightly because it's not a high strength. Certainly a great retinol to start off with. It can be increased to every night once it is well tolerated. My only slight criticism would be that there is no use by date on the box or the product so you have no idea of how old the product is.

I absolutely LOVE this brand/the product! I found this retinol, on a dermatologist recommendation website & I have a moisturizer from the brand as well, so I thought I would give it a try! I think the packing is cute and I really like the pump. The retinol cream hasn’t made my skin break out and has made it feel smoother and look more radiant!! Definitely purchase this product!

The packaging is terrible!

I read through the other reviews and decided to risk this purchase because it seemed like a good amount of retinol as a beginner. Please heed the warning: the pump is terrible! I have successfully gotten serum out of this bottle twice in the time I have owned it. I can’t even comment on the formula since I can’t get it out usually! The times I have gotten it out I had to flip the bottle upside down, shake it and pump vigorously. Go with something else :(

Absurd packaging ruins this product

The pump design is over-complicated and prevents me from getting the remaining serum inside. Also deceiving size for his little product is inside. It’s a bummer because I do like the serum itself.

Pump stopped working a week in

Pump stopped working a week in. The product itself did not irritate my skin, but I cannot speak of any actual long term effects because the pumped stopped working a week in and there’s no way to open it.

best retinol

Best regional I’ve ever used. On my fourth bottle. 40 years old. Have tried all kinds of rets over the years and this one is best performance on my skin. Been using it for awhile and always get compliments on my skin, I think this is a major factor

Clogs Pores

Makes my oily skin more shiny and clogs my pores. I regularly use the First Aid Beauty cleanser to clean my face twice a day, so I'm disappointed with their retinol serum.

Great retinol product!

I love this stuff. I have fairly sensitive skin and have ever had a problem with this retinol serum. I apply after cleansing, and then follow up with a thicker night cream to avoid any dryness. In the morning my skin in bright, smooth, and soft.

Worth Every Single Penny!

This product is AMAZING! I’ve tried a few retinol products but nothing compares to this one. It really help with fine lines and I uneven skin. My face looks and feels amazing after using this. Within a month of using this every night my laugh lines have disappeared. It’s so gentle yet powerful. Highly recommend!!

I bought as an addition to the value pack I got. All first aid beauty. I used every other day for the first week and thought I noticed nothing so I started to use everyday. (First time retinol user). This every night use caused around my nostrils to dry out. So changed back to every other. Definitely noticed my skin looks brighter after using for three weeks. Also use with the FAB resurfacing pads and facewash. Major breakouts have seemed to clear up. Not sure if it's this product, or me just taking better care of my skin? Will buy again.

i love this product. it’s a great beginners retinol. based off my experience with it, I didn’t peel, i didn’t purge a ton. I just got a few small pimples but they went away fairly quickly. I noticed that my skin was brighter just a week after using this product. I’m only about 6 weeks in, my skin has cleared up tremendously, it looks brighter and more plump.
